Solar Rooftop Subsidy Yojana 2024

The energy is controlling and demanding the world. Energy is always directly proportional to the population which means population grows energy requirement will also grows rapidly. This leads to a challenge to the power industry due to insufficient resources relative to consumption.
To resolve this issue central government come up with a scheme called Solar Rooftop Subsidy Yojana. This is the good initiative by the government of the India to promote the use of Solar energy across the nation.

Fig1: How solar panel works

The government will help to pay subsidy for the installation of  solar panels on the roofs of your houses. The solar panels will collect the sunlight and will be converted as a electrical power for household usage which has benefits like not required to pay monthly power bills. It's a one time investment that reduces utility expenses. After installation there will be no other costs required.

Here is the calculator:

The space required for installation is 100 square feet

System capacity (kW)     Solar Subsidy (in %)
1kW to 3kW                     40 %
4kW to 10kW                   20%
More than 10kW              No subsidy

Lets say if your expenditure for solar panels and installation will be 2,20000 and installed 3kW (solar panel will generate easily 360 units of power) so we have a benefit from government for 40% subsidy so that your final amount will be

2,20,000*40%= 88,000

This is bigger amount for middle class people but trust me this will save a lot of money from monthly expenditures. The main reason to choose this scheme is to protect environment this will reduces carbon emissions that helps in global warming.

Majority of the people in the metropolitan cities are using this method to reduce their monthly power bills. Interested people may submit the application through online portal here https://solarrooftop.gov.in/
